Finaki’s Entretiens Numériques (Digital Interviews) in Opio

Finaki chose to hold the 28th edition of its Entretiens Numériques series, which took place on 15th-18th June 2017, in the town of Opio. An unmissable date in the diary for managers and employees operating in the IT sector, the event provided an opportunity for such individuals to come together, exchange thoughts and ideas and gain an understanding of the latest digital and technological developments affecting their professions. With the Entretiens Numériques incorporating many different events and attracting a growing number of participants every year there was a clear need to design a nomadic tool that would offer a comprehensive and intuitive overview of the programme for the 4-day event, which was why 148 Agency came up with the idea of optimising the special event website to make it a mobile-first site.

How do you optimise a site like an app?

Working alongside Finaki, 148 outlined the aims that the tool needed to achieve and came up with an efficient and easy-to-use solution. A great deal of careful thought went into establishing a comprehensive user pathway - a UX task that is central to guaranteeing the user comfort and efficiency that the tool offers. In addition to its particularly well-thought-through UX, the use of the Wordpress interface made it easy to update the content of the mini-site, giving it all the characteristics of an app, not forgetting the fact that the UX and the graphical interface (GI) also complemented one another, making the tool both functional and elegant.

A practical and tailored tool

Each participant was able access the full programme of conference sessions and workshops and gain quick and easy access to the various highlights of the event. This also allowed appointments to be saved as events in the user’s smartphone calendar. What’s more, participants were able to access a list of speakers in the form of contact pages (including the person’s name, position, company, e-mail address and profile picture) to facilitate professional exchange and personal networking. Last but not least, a search module was also incorporated

to allow participants to quickly locate a particular speaker or attendee. Its optimised ergonomics and the sort of user comfort you would expect of an app combined with an ultra-fast display technology enabled users of the mini-site to really get the most out of the event by saving time, planning their days and connecting with other participants.
