You may not know this, but in laboratories, researchers order their own mice and rats, as well as food and bedding. Depending on the subject of their research, they may need a rodent of a particular species, female or male, young or old. To make their work easier, Inserm, the National Institute of Health and Medical Research, aims to provide them with a comparator of different suppliers. The goal is twofold: to allow them to compare prices and generate a pre-order voucher. It is 148 Agence Collective that wins the tender to create this interface: "SIANIMO".
Research on animals raises moral and ethical questions that 148 Agence Collective fully shares. However, it should be noted that these methods are part of a very strict regulatory framework, harmonized at the European level. At Inserm in particular, the Office of Ethics and Animal Models (BEA) ensures the promotion of good practices. Since Louis Pasteur and the rabies vaccine in 1885, many significant advances in modern medicine have been enabled by the use of animals. They help ensure that medications or protocols are safe and effective before being offered to patients. Currently, Inserm is participating, for example, in the national cancer research plan, the National Rare Diseases Plan, and the Neurodegenerative Diseases Plan (PMND).
The National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) aims to provide its researchers with a tool that makes their daily tasks easier: a price comparator of different suppliers.

SIANIMO must above all be an intuitive and easy-to-use tool. The aim for laboratory technicians is to spend as little time as possible on these orders and to be able to focus on the heart of their research. When accessing the interface, the first step is to choose one of the 4 categories: purchase of rodents, rodent food, bedding supplies, or health control. Then, you arrive at an ultra-simplified form with various dropdown menus: species, sex, age, status, type of packaging, etc. Finally, once each criterion is selected, the laboratory technician receives 3 price offers from 3 different suppliers.
The reflection on the user journey involves several brainstorming workshops with Inserm. We need to understand precisely which criteria should be compared and which are priorities. From there, Samuel, our lead developer, creates an algorithm that results in the 3 outcomes and their ranking. In parallel, Gaétan, our creative director, envisions a clean graphic charter aimed at efficiency. The priority is to create a simple interface, easy to read. 4 main colors are taken from the Inserm logo: navy blue, sky blue, yellow, and purple. They constitute a visual code that serves as a reference: each of the 4 categories is associated with a color, which is used on the user manual and throughout the entire corresponding comparison tool.
"The ergonomics of the interface and its graphics are designed to simplify access to the content."
