The Occaziophone brief

This small yet rapidly expanding shop hopes to capitalise on the surging popularity of the iPhone to raise awareness of its express repairs concept. Occaziophone called upon 148 to revamp its visual identity, set up an e-commerce site and develop a cross-media campaign.

148’s contribution

Creation

- An identity and stationery shop inspired by the iPhone
- Dynamic press advertisements
- a personalised box: the repaired phone is returned to the customer in a personalised box bearing the company colours
- The frontage for a second shop: 148 created and installed the graphic design that would feature on the front of a second store that the company was opening.

Cross-media: the ‘Sauvez votre iPhone’ (‘Save your iPhone’) campaign

148 implemented an events campaign centred around a madcap character whose phone seemed to have literally exploded. Our ‘bearded idiot in the green polo’ (as he was often referred to) was a completely lost soul who would certainly grab your attention! His distress prompted us to do just one thing: ‘save it!’. The campaign, which ran for 1 month in Paris, Boulogne and Nice, was circulated across the Parisian metro system’s advertising network and on the JCDecaux network in 2x3m format right across the capital.

The teaser continued online

The teaser continued online at www.jesauvemoniphone.com, where users could calculate what it would cost to have their iPhone repaired and even enter a competition.

On the metro:

The ‘classic’ campaign - 148 created a series of ramps down to the MetroBus network for the launch of the new e-commerce site

Web & Mobile

Creation of an e-commerce site

The idea being to set up a vibrant e-commerce site with a strong commercial dimension,
we developed a site with dual web and mobile navigation based on the OpenSource Joomla framework.
Once the browser had been detected the site switched to the interface best suited to the user’s screen. The entire ordering process was optimised to enable it to function perfectly on an iPhone.

The event site was also optimised for iPhone and mobiles.

The creation of a tool for calculating the cost of the repairs. A diagnostic process was used to estimate maintenance costs.
Those with iPhones who were interested as a result of seeing the campaign in the street had to be able to access messages directly.

The event site, along with the repairer’s e-commerce site, was particularly easily accessible on mobiles thanks to the creation of a special version designed to be compatible with iPhones (no Flash required, optimised to reflect screen dimensions, touch-screen, etc.). Whether they wished to enter the competition, purchase a product from the online store or even calculate how much it would cost to get their mobile phone repaired, the user was able to perform all of these functions and more using their hand-held device.

A database based on a business rule (that can be administered for changes to general conditions of sale) fed into a list of prospective customers that had performed the diagnosis.

An Excel export of this database could then be obtained at the click of a button, enabling the team in the shop to contact the list of prospects with iPhones in need of saving!

Multimedia

SMS campaign

In order to keep in touch with its customers and thanks to the contacts file created as a result of the campaign, we implemented an SMS campaign with a special management tool to make it easier to manage and possible to do the following:

  • create contact groups,
  • add contacts,
  • send an SMS campaign to a contact group,
  • monitor the results of implementing the campaign
  • gain an insight into consumption patterns.

Introduction of a newsletter

In the framework of the jesauvemoniphone.com campaign and indeed for the purposes of keeping in touch with the store’s customer base in more general terms, 148 introduced a customer base management system and a newsletter tool based on API Mailchimp.

Buzz and SEO : over 10,000 visits

Benefits of the campaign

The results of this campaign were felt immediately in terms of visits to the website, which rose from 200 individual visitors a day to nearly 3,000, peaking at the end of December with 100,000 visitors for the month!
