Enhancing local production in Martinique

Productionlocale.com is born from a deep wish and an observation: to promote all local production from the Martinique territory and to notice that there is no digital platform bringing together all local producers. No matter! Agency 148 responds to the request of the association Martinique.productionlocale.com, whose goal is to highlight local producers from Martinique, to create productionlocale.com!

"I 'inherited' this project from the previous consulting director, at a time when it was somewhat stuck: many things had been addressed during the design phase, there were ambitions... and a budget that had already been largely consumed. My first task was to preserve the ambitions as much as possible without blowing the budget!"

A goal: to recruit members

The association wishes for 148 Agence Collective to design an interface that highlights the island's producers, while also having an educational dimension regarding the products sold. The website should also be an entry point for recruiting new members to the association.

The idea is that the producers will become the true ambassadors of local production, in Martinique, but also on an international scale since the project is intended to be adapted to other islands.
To meet these needs, we are developing four features:

  • An interactive map that showcases the entire territory and encourages action on the site, therefore discovery (nothing is worse than a passive visitor, all UX designers will tell you!)
  • A search system by Producer to give them real visibility, especially if users visit the site after talking to producers.
  • An enhanced user experience, meaning a clear interface, accessible information, and quick navigation.
  • A visual identity in service of the producers, who are the true stakeholders of the project and should not be overshadowed by the association. Large photos place the women and men in the field at the heart of the project, with Local Production acting as logistical support.

We hope that this project can be replicated in other geographical areas to further promote agriculture and local productions!
