QR code, did you say?
The QR code is a type of two-dimensional barcode consisting of a series of black blocks arranged on a white square. The ‘QR’ bit stands for ‘Quick Response’, because the content of the code can be deciphered quickly. QR codes are designed to be read by a barcode reader, a mobile phone, a smartphone or even a webcam and offer the added bonus of being able to store more information than a barcode, and data that can be directly recognised by an app in particular.
Does your smartphone not have a QR reader?
If not, 148 recommends Lynkee, available from the App Store and for Android.

THE CART'COM BRIEF
Cart’Com offered its guests their own personal app to mark the launch of the Smart'Cart on 27th September,
and an exhibition of QR Codes custom designed by artists was also staged.
The evening event took place at Paris’s Galerie l'Issue, of which Nicolas Bordas, President of the TBWA France group, is a supporter.

ILLUSTRATION: The metaphor of an island - a true microcosm
The aim we set out to achieve with Cart’Com was to consider the QR code as a graphical and artistic design object.
