Context

Renaissance Nancy 2013 celebrates this period of cultural turbulence in which Lorraine played a central role through a series of over 100 events, including the L'Automne de la Renaissance: D'Arcimboldo à Caravage exhibition staged by the Musée des Beaux-Arts and featuring some truly exceptional pieces on loan from other museums, notably including the Louvre.

148's contribution

Somogy Éditions d'Art, which had been entrusted with the task of producing the catalogue, called upon the 148 editorial team to oversee the production of the catalogue. The catalogue, which consisted of nearly 400 pages and 260 illustrations, needed (as always!) to be produced to a very tight schedule. Since much of the catalogue was made up of exhibit notices written by a dozen or so specialists it was important, first and foremost, to ensure that all of the texts to be incorporated had been properly received and were all appropriately coordinated. Iconography was important as almost all of the pieces were featured in full-page format, meaning that the images received needed to be of a certain quality. The end result was a classically crafted catalogue of a very high visual and scientific standard that got delivered on time!
