
Ambitus is a project that is close to our hearts. We are proud to have worked with this client who fights every day for the planet. Ambitus is a European program to combat environmental crime. It is funded by the European Commission and France is responsible for it, through one of its judicial police services: OCLAESP, the Central Office for the Fight Against Environmental and Public Health Crimes. Daily, over 60 gendarmes and police officers coordinate European investigations to combat waste trafficking, trafficking in protected species, and illegal logging. Despite the extent of its actions, Ambitus has until now remained a very discreet program. Its actors are calling on 148 Collective Agency to conduct a communication campaign aimed at the general public in Europe. As a B Corp certified agency concerned about the impact of its actions on the environment, Agency 148 fully shares the values of this program.
Everything is to be built: the positioning, brand image, creative universe. And the client needs advice. We therefore start by conducting audits to deliver a positioning strategy: target, brand brief, manifesto. Based on this study, we believe that the key is to highlight the credibility of this judicial police unit and its investigative capacity. Then, our idea is to combine the creation of a web page (landing page) for educational purposes (Who is Ambitus? What are its actions?) with a striking awareness campaign on social media.

For the identity of the landing page, the graphic approach is to resemble a criminal investigation board. With its photos, information surrounded by marker, cut out newspaper articles, and red yarn stretched between pins to connect the clues. The aim is to create an atmosphere of concrete, handmade work, with effects on materials so that each element, down to the smallest piece of tape, immerses us in this collective imaginary of criminal investigations. The second important element of this webpage is a motion design video. 2 minutes of graphic animation and infographics to present the Ambitus program in an ultra accessible way.

For the social media campaign, we are creating Ambituseuropa accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We decide to develop a shocking campaign that counters the awareness-raising discourse of NGOs and environmental activists. This social media strategy unfolds in three phases. The first is a teasing phase. To attract attention and provoke reactions from online communities, we conduct fake street interviews that appear to justify the massacre of animals or the destruction of forests. The second phase, known as "revealing," unveils who Ambitus is. Finally, in a third phase of "on-going," we provide key figures and results of concrete actions implemented by Ambitus. Once this campaign is launched, OCLAESP benefits from an expanded audience to communicate autonomously about its actions and continue raising awareness around an issue that will not be resolved in a few weeks. Moreover, all the templates for posts created for social media are made available to the client. Thus, they maintain a long-term communication tool, with the same visual identity and ease of use.

In order to create a comprehensive communication campaign, we are conducting a public relations effort in France and Germany through our partner We Agency. Another essential step is that influencers participate in the campaign by sharing certain posts. Finally, we are implementing a SEA strategy (Search Engine Advertising) which allows, through keyword purchases, to elevate the results related to Ambitus on Google. This effective process helps to optimize the SEO of OCLAESP and establish it as a reference in the fight against environmental crime. We also purchase sponsored posts that automatically appear in social media feeds and link back to Ambitus's website.
