The MacroPLAST project aims to measure the flows of plastic macro-waste (bottles, packaging, bags, etc.) that flow into the Seine and then spill into the sea. Paris East - Créteil University participated in this study by installing GPS beacons on certain waste items. Based on the collected data, agency 148 produced a video that traces their journey from Rouen to the estuary.
Laure, our graphic designer and motion designer, took the opportunity to test and enhance her skills on the brand new application provided by Google, Google Earth Studio, which creates the impression of flying over the Seine and following the waste.
Once the image sequences were exported, she did everything possible to simplify understanding in After Effects: a slider representing the waste moves through the river and washes up on the banks 7 times. Each time, a window provides more information about this stranding.
This video should become a major tool in the dissemination of the study from the University of Paris Est – Créteil. It should be shown to scientists at conferences or seminars related to ecological transition and sustainable development. It is also intended to be more widely distributed to inform and alert the general public about these waste flows that are particularly polluting for the Seine and its banks.
The Collective Agency brings together numerous talents who can respond to strategic and/or operational communication projects, targeted or multi-channel, short and long term. Do not hesitate to make an appointment with us to discuss and receive a quote for your project!
