
Somadis is a Malagasy family-owned distribution company established in 1990. When Emilie, the founder's daughter, took over the management of the company, she wanted to equip it with a consistent identity and communication materials: business cards, presentations, and a website. Our mission: to increase the visibility of Somadis to enhance the recognition of its expertise through relevant identity, messaging, and support materials.
"Somadis has very strong expertise in the Malagasy territory, particularly in brand marketing at points of sale. For them, it was complicated to stand out, as if they were going to overshadow their clients. The positioning work was therefore essential."

We accompanied Somadis on two branding axes: positioning and identity. The positioning consisted of a workshop where we worked on the differentiation of the company to lay the foundations of what makes it its reason for being. For the identity, we sought inspiration from the universe of Madagascar while aiming to convey the brand's values. Somadis's clients are primarily international companies: We wanted to show that Madagascar is a territory where investing is a real business opportunity. The new Somadis logo is modern and traditional at the same time as it incorporates motifs from the territory and warm colors. A significant emphasis is placed on photography.
"Through the illustrations, the objective was to highlight strong elements of Malagasy culture to affirm Somadis's geographical situation. For the realization, I relied on the photos provided by the company, reinterpreting them so that they were readable in small sizes and understandable. The result is the outcome of numerous discussions and a balance between shapes, details, and colors."

We designed for Somadis the design of their website which is their main digital showcase. We sought to balance the clarity of information, eco-design, and the provision of information about the company: The site must reassure prospects and customers. In a family-owned company with 35 years of experience and employees who have sometimes been there since the beginning, it was also very important for them to feel represented in this new identity and in these new tools. Part of the work of Agency 148 was to support this transition.
