A booklet of exclusive recipes for chocolate professionals

Working with the Valrhona team, a company with which we share B Corp certification, is a renewed pleasure almost every year. We love receiving their brief and discovering the chocolate trends for the upcoming year... but shh! We are bound to secrecy until the release of this exclusive brochure for the chocolatier's premium clients!

I believe that the Valrhona team appreciates 148 Agence Collective's ability to propose new ideas while adhering to a constrained brief: a season like Christmas, especially in the chocolate field, has been extensively explored... It is necessary to play with the codes to succeed in surprising.

A traditional Christmas tale to showcase the brand's innovations.

This year, the brand decides to make the character of the Nutcracker the hero of its recipes, notably thanks to a dedicated mold. The chefs at the Valrhona School have already conceptualized the six recipes in the booklet. We propose to add a Christmas tale, an original story, to present the new services offered by the chocolatier to its clients… Vidya will be responsible for writing it, in close collaboration with the internal communication teams.

On the artistic direction side, the brief is clear: “The booklet must adhere to the codes of 'beautiful' magazines. Play with typography while being clean and elegant.” Besides the layout that showcases images, we focus our work on a selection of creative papers, including the Crush Cacao, made of 40% recycled fibers and 15% cocoa shells (a valued by-product). For the cover, it will be a cut-out rather than a metallic Pantone, which is quite expected and less relevant in terms of eco-design. Because if there is an area where we are proactive, it is indeed this one!

 Result: a premium recipe booklet that reflects both a demanding know-how and the qualitative support of Valrhona for chocolatiers and restaurateurs.
