Modernize the brand identity

Pretolani is a family-owned business specializing in furniture creation. Luxurious projects for renowned architects and decorators. Jean-Pierre, the father, sets up his first workshop in Paris in 1986. 35 years later, Damien, the son, works alongside his father. He calls it Agency 148. His goal: to refresh the company’s website and its identity. To give it a breath of fresh air. The specifications are twofold. It is necessary to showcase the modernity of the projects carried out by Pretolani while highlighting a craftsmanship expertise.

Pretty quickly, Damien is encouraged to focus on the visuals. To design a site with little content to give prominence to the images. Cabinet-making is an artisanal trade. Working with wood is a meticulous process. Providing an overview of the achievements is the best way to reassure clients about the quality of Pretolani's craftsmanship. And since the company primarily operates through word-of-mouth, its website is not primarily meant to boost sales. It is, above all, a showcase, a tool to talk about the brand.

It is very important for us to show that our work remains contemporary. Therefore, I contacted Agency 148 with a main goal: to modernize our identity and our website.

Adopt the codes of luxury

To meet the high-end graphic objective, Gaétan, our artistic director, chooses to focus on the different stages of production. On the hands at work, on tools, on wood shavings. Through the images, the idea is to show the duality between raw material and processed material. And to tell a story: the transition from an oak log from the sawmill to a piece of furniture, cabinet, table, desk.


In addition to the visuals, a few words are enough to create the brand image: the dates of the main milestones in the history of Pretolani, an introduction to the workshop and the design office, an explanation of the teams' expertise. And on the contact page, we simply reference an address and a phone number.
