Modernize the image of a historic art gallery

"The idea behind the project is to enter this digital universe as one would enter a gallery."

Léo, Artistic Director, 148 Agence Collective

Vallois is not one, but two galleries. One dedicated to the greatest creators of French Art Deco, the other to contemporary art.
We have been commissioned for the redesign of the website of this historical house, with the aim of infusing a breath of modernity while showcasing its craftsmanship and heritage.
Vallois is also a project that evolves as we interact with the client: quickly, we suggest working on the two specialties of the gallery distinctly, separating the site dedicated to Art Deco from the one dedicated to contemporary art. We also emphasize the importance of supporting this website redesign with a revamp of the logo, which dated back to the 1930s.

A website dedicated to the Art Deco gallery

"148 Agence Collective managed to support us effectively. We particularly appreciated the pedagogy of the teams, their listening skills, and their good understanding of our issues."

Martine, Director, Vallois Art Deco Gallery

We are in charge of the site dedicated to the Art Deco gallery. An original and inspiring universe where we immerse ourselves to imagine an immersive interface.

Rounded angles, geometric lines, and elegance… All graphic elements, from colors to the shape of the frames containing the images, aim to evoke the codes of Art Deco. The idea is to best showcase the various furniture pieces, hence the significant space allocated to visuals, coupled with a deliberate desire to streamline the textual elements.

The redesign of a logo from the 1930s

"This logo was born at the launch of the gallery: it is a very strong family heritage. The challenge was to make it more modern while preserving its characteristics from the 1930s."

Charline, Project Manager, 148 Agence Collective

To go further and emphasize the differentiated treatment of the “Art Deco” and “Contemporary Art” brands, we also propose to rework the logo. We start from the existing base to modernize it and reflect the association of tradition and modernity that underpins the spirit of the gallery. This results in a raw and impactful identity, primarily based on the choice of a very recognizable typography. The use of this typography recalls the old logo to ensure brand recognition: the “V” and the dot of the “I” stand out clearly from the rest, in a spirit that aims to be more linear and harmonious.

An identity that is thus both rooted in current codes and in the spirit of order and geometry that enriches the Art Deco movement.
